Shelter
Volunteers are an important part of what
makes the shelter a special place and what
enables the organization to save more
animals. There are many ways to volunteer.
Please visit our Volunteers page for more
information. You can apply in person, by
email, or online!
If you'd like to help make sure that a
homeless cat or dog at the shelter goes to a
good home, but you can't adopt the animal
yourself, please consider sponsoring it.
Sponsoring a pet costs $20/month and
provides shelter, food, and veterinary care
while the animal is at the shelter. To sponsor
a pet, please call Kent Animal Shelter at
(631) 727-5731 and someone will be glad to
assist you.

Kent has just received a key approval from the Riverhead Town Zoning Board! This is a HUGE step forward to realizing our vision for a new facility.

Kent Animal Shelter's facility, originally built in
1968, is aging and in constant need of repair.
An architect has been engaged to design a
new facility that would significantly increase
Kent's capacity to help animals in need, and
plans are moving through review processes.
Pamela Green, Kent's Executive Director, is
actively seeking support from anyone who can
help in a meaningful way, either through
donations, volunterring,
or in other ways. If you can help, please
